  • Internship Hour is Happy Hour

This year’s batch of interns are very privileged. They are having the best kind of training and it has only been two weeks. The second week was filled with surprises. Our good friend Pastor Rey from Lifechurch, Palawan was surprise guest speaker.  Known for his unique brand of humor, the interns enjoyed interacting with him. “Nakuha niya ang kiliti namin”, Joyce (an intern) commented.  Pastor Rey  encouraged the young interns to utilize their potential and enjoy the benefits of the greater life that God has planned for them.
During the weekends, the interns were taken on  field trips—first, a PPMC-partnered tour of the local airport, the famous Thunderbird Resort, and the recently-launched Poro Point Baywalk.  The following week, the interns were brought to  the Films and Prints Studio. They were taught not just the basics of photography but they also experienced the behind-the-scenes preparations as well. They also experienced being the subjects.
Summer Internship Training is a 6-week intensive hands-on training for high potential youth leaders. The training is all-encompassing and covers development from the spiritual to the social, mental, and basic life skills.

  • A New Community: A Volunteer's Testimony

    April 26, 2016 (Tue.)
Every single person matters to God.  Zephaniah 3:17 says, “He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Ray Cornell came to the Philippines all the way from Oregon because, “It sounded like a good place to retire.”  He has been staying here for over 4 years now. In looking for a church, he hopped from one to another until he found the church he knows God has assigned to him. 2 years after regularly attending the SFCC services, he made a decision.  Knowing that the church could use a lot of help in the various activities and events, he decided to lend a hand.  He became an asset, helping out in the Food and Beverage Team during the Encounter God Retreat, the regular ‘bayanihan’/ clean up drive,  and now at the 6-week long Summer Internship Training. It is such a blessing seeing that he doesn’t mind washing countless dishes and cutlery,  heaving heavy objects, and breaking into a sweat.  As a result, he has gained friends as he became a constant figure at every event.
Ray Cornell has gained confidence & security in God’s love and is actively playing for the ‘we’ team.  He recognizes that ‘we’ is greater than ‘me’ and that no one becomes a champion alone . Working behind the scenes, he gets blessed as he blesses others.

  • Summer Internship Training: Week 1

    April 18, 2016
Summer Internship Training is a 6-week intensive hands-on training for high potential youth leaders . The offer is available to the young ones ages 12 to 20.  The summer heat notwithstanding, excited participants showed up bright and early on Day 1. Eager volunteers from all ages and sizes blessed the interns with their availability. There were teachers, servers, administrative staff, overseers, cooks, maintenance teams, and other support teams. God is good. It has been a smooth start and already, the  youth are starting to blossom into their full potential.
This is just the beginning. Pray with us that the 6-week training will be fruitful and serve its purpose, and that God’s will be done in their lives.

  • The Road to an Encounter with God

Who does not want to have an encounter with the One True God? Who does not want to have the best, most exhilarating experience of being in His presence? Where God is, there is peace. There are miracles. There is tremendous change.
SFCC will not stop until the work is done. Jesus commissioned all of us to “go & make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) and by His grace, more & more people in San Fernando are coming to know who God really is.
Another batch of Pre-encounter participants are being prepared for their Encounter of a lifetime. The anticipation is building up and this is just day one. We have Abba to thank for putting a common passion in each heart to know God on a deeper level.
Attending the Encounter Retreat will not guarantee that life will become better. But knowing Jesus will. He is excited to meet us and tell us of His wonderful love for us.

  • 24 Years of God's Faithfulness

There is every reason to celebrate because of God’s goodness & faithfulness.  SFCC has gone through 24 wonderful, fruitful, exhilarating years of growing deeper and deeper in the  grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The body of Christ is growing, too, in numbers.  And last weekend, the Worship Hall couldn’t contain all the attending members & guests. Even the Overflow Hall was filled to overflowing.  This year is going to be a year of more blessings. This anniversary is just the kickoff.

  • A Time of Refreshing

Worship is a lifestyle with overflowing benefits.  It is a time for spiritual refreshment and reconnecting with God.  Jesus is always eager to connect with us and to meet us in prayer and worship. Last Saturday (Jan. 23, 2016), there was an impromptu gathering. It started with a few people worshiping at dusk within the SFCC premises. Because His presence is always attractive, more and more people joined the singing. His presence was so palpable that people started crying and falling on their knees. It was an overwhelming experience according to those who were present.

  • The 1st 144 Gathering of 2016

The beginning of the year poses new hope, new beginnings, and fresh starts. At the first 144 Gathering, Pastor Tim and his wife, Bambi shared with the leaders the vision they received from God. This year is going to be a blessed one.  Mindsets, culture, and attitude are being aligned to a ‘Kingdom mentality’ . We are all called by the King of Kings. And we will heed.

  • Proclaiming Liberty to the Captives

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed…” (Luke 4:18)

The San Fernando Christian Community Jail Mission Team has been active for almost two years. And God has been faithful by giving us a glimpse of His works behind the scenes. In prison, one’s life would seem to be put on hold. The inmates see nothing but a dead end street ahead. But God’s light can penetrate and obliterate any darkness. His love cannot be deterred by prison bars.  That is why volunteers sacrifice their Monday mornings to bring hope to the hopeless and the Truth that Jesus died for them, too. They bring the Good News that with Jesus, there is another chance at life. Even when confined within prison walls, they can be set free.

  • LifeChurch Roxas Visits SFCC

What an eventful week for San Fernando Christian Community! This week, Pastor Rey Pactanac from LifeChurch Roxas, along with some of his Primary & 144 leaders visited the center.  Each of them was very gracious to share their hearts to the congregation. A Leadership Mentoring was held for 2 days at the SFCC Worship Hall. Those who participated received an outpouring of fresh insight & wisdom. Everyone was encouraged, refreshed, and given a new eagerness to live the life of a true believer & disciple.  Pastor Rey was also the special guest speaker at the monthly event, Soaking, as well as the Saturday & Sunday services.

LifeChurch Roxas  headed by Pastor Rey
“Maraming magandang mangyayari sa iyo kapag sumusunod ka sa Panginoon!” (“A lot of good things will happen to you if you obey Him.”)
“Dapat excited tayo na mag-share, dahil ang dala-dala natin ay Magandang Balita—Salita ng Diyos!” (“We should be excited to share because what we bring to the people is Godd News—His Word!”)
“Ikaw ang ilaw sa tahanan mo.” (“You are the light in your own homes.”)
    Learning hour is happy hour.
