  • Making Room for Everyone

    “Everytime I come here, there’s always something new!”, exclaims Ingrid, a senior college student on her semestral break from Ateneo. 
    And that is true about San Fernando Christian Community Center.   The priority is people. SFCC makes sure that everyone is accommodated.  Not only that, SFCC ensures that everyone, whether a child or an adult,  feels safe and secure. After the Champion Kids’ Hall expansion, the Building & Facilities Team are moving on to yet another project—the courtyard expansion. More space is being created to contain the throngs of people coming in all week, especially during the weekends.  It is the heart of SFCC to give quality experience for everyone who comes to visit.  The love of Jesus is communicated not only through the sharing of the Good News but through warm greetings, friendly smiles, firm handshakes, and sincere acceptance. 

    At SFCC, there is always room for everyone.   

    Clearing out to create more space and accommodate everyone. 

    Added surprise. No wonder people come early and stay late. 


  • The Power Of Prayer & Worship


    Every Tuesday night at 7:15 in the evening, people go to the SFCC Worship Hall and there, they spend an hour and a half praying and praising God. As soon as we could talk in syllables, our parents teach us how to say our prayers, and rightly so. Even in our limited human understanding, we know that we need a Higher Being to help us get through life. 

    We pray for a variety of reasons. We come to God with our specific requests, believing His promise that He hears our prayers. Our prayers are not in vain, even if we do not receive specifically what we asked for ( Rom. 8:26-27 ). He has promised that when we ask for things that are in accordance with His will, He will give us what we ask for. 

    At Praise & Prayer, the congregation basically prays in unison and in agreement with one another. There are specific prayer points flashed on the screen for every area ( church services, ministry teams, programs, projects, mission teams, etc.). Anyone can submit a prayer request either verbally, via mail, or text message.  

    After Praise & Prayer, there is free dinner at the courtyard for everyone. Here, people get to have fellowship and create bonds with one another.  

    SFCC has a lot to be thankful for, having hundreds of ready prayer warriors each week joining together in earnest prayer. 

    God desires to communicate with us. He loves hearing from us. He also loves to tell us things—wonderful things beyond our imagination. So let’s keep on praying and enjoy the direct access we have with our Heavenly Father.

  • Extreme Saturday Jam: Jam-packed With Activities for the Young Ones

    Extreme Saturday Jam is named as such because it is, indeed, jammed with all sorts of activities.  It is also a casual gathering, a come-as-you-are weekly event.  Originally designed for the youth, the program is dynamic, interactive, and fun-filled. Of course, the message is the main part. But the attendees tend to come early and stay late due to the post-service activities and the bond that is formed among them. New attendees revel in the atmosphere of friendliness and fun. In turn, they bring their friends to experience this one-of-a kind atmosphere—one that is safe, positive, and encouraging. 

    Come and experience it, too—every Saturday starting at 10 am. You won’t regret it.

  • Pre-Encounter & Encounter Graduation (Nov. 9, 2014)

    The recently concluded Pre-encounter and Encounter God Retreat showcases yet another batch of changed lives and newfound freedom.  A former bully, Jovito Andaya, has developed a Christ-like boldness to stand in front of the congregation to testify what Jesus has done in his life. A shy Alyka found out that her age is not a barrier to sharing the Good News.  Joseph Collado ran away from God only to find out that he really has nowhere to go but back in His loving arms. Jerome Domayan found his identity in Christ.  Marites Godoy got healed from half a decade of depression. The list goes on and more testimonies will be added because God’s amazing power to change lives is unlimited. That is why the San Fernando Christian Community will continue to encourage and reach out to lives because we all need healing. We all need Jesus in our lives. 

  • He Makes All Things New : Renovating the Champion Kids' Hall

    “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him.” (Psalm 127:3)

    Over the years, the number of  attendees at San Fernando Christian Community has increased considerably. Even the Champion Kids have imbibed the ‘inviting culture’ of the church, bringing their parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and more kids to attend the services. It is the vision of SFCC to see families worshiping together and growing in God’s love.  Along with the Champion Kids’ population increase comes the need for a bigger venue to contain them.  Right now, the Champion Kids’ Hall is under renovation.  One room (formerly called the David’s Room) and one bathroom was torn down to create a bigger space for worship and other activities. An airconditioning unit is added since one unit can no longer suffice.  The Building and Facilities Team are working round-the-clock to finish the project so that the children will enjoy services and Fun Sundays in a roomier, more comfortable, safer place. Many have already contributed to make this plan come to fruition. Some have contributed materials, additional funds, and manpower. 
    You, too, can help in whatever way you can. 

    It’s a good problem: the old Champion Kids’ Hall—usually crowded due to an unexpected increase in attendees. 

    He makes all things new: the Champion Kids’ Hall on its way to a newer, better, roomier facility. 

  • A Mother & Son's Triumph

    FREEDOM ENCOUNTER, OCT. 31-NOV. 1, 2014

    The last Encounter God Retreat for the year 2014 is yet another victorious event. When God moves, breakthroughs are bound to happen. 

    One significant breakthrough happened between a mother and her son.  For five years, Tess suffered from extreme depression due to the loss of her husband. The tragedy happened on Christmas day in 2009.  It had been a  struggle to keep her head together while raising the three kids left behind by their father.  Often, she would have crying bouts. During attacks of extreme depression, she would hole herself in her room and just cry for hours.  Her eyes had this faraway look. The sadness in them would not disappear even when she smiled. 

    Her first-born son, Marwyn, took the loss of his father the hardest among the three siblings.  He was acting out all throughout his growing up years. His grief manifested through violent outbursts and  skipping classes. Which was why they moved from Nueva Vizcaya to San Fernando City.  All things do work together for good. It was the hand of God that brought them here.  Marwyn met a friend at school. This friend invited him to attend a service at SFCC. It was a pivotal moment for the Godoy family. Marwyn became actively involved in the church activities, volunteering for the Multimedia team.  He invited his mother to church and pretty soon, both were encouraged to attend the Pre-encounter sessions. It was evident that both were in dire need of healing from the wounds brought about by the loss of a loved one. 

    At the Encounter God Retreat, mother and son had experienced the goodness of God. He showed Tess the root of her depression—where and how it began. And as she submitted all her pain and bitterness at the foot of the cross, God uprooted these and replaced it with the peace and joy that she had been longing for all those lost years.  

    Now, Tess feels lighter and free. The sadness that once clouded her eyes are replaced by sparkles of joy. In her testimony, she narrated that she is amazed by her son’s transformation. No longer quick-tempered and irritable, he now showers his mom with hugs and kisses. Their relationship is renewed as God becomes their binding factor. As a parting shot, she happily quipped, ” My status is now changed. I am now IN A RELATIONSHIP (with God) .”

    Free to worship: Encountering God changes one’s perspective on things. 

  • Teaching Is a Work of Heart

    Romans 12:6-7  “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach.” 


    Teaching is a job that requires not just a lot of brain work, but also a lot of heart. That is why on World Teachers’ Day, the Sadulawit, Inc.  choir actively participated in the celebration at the La Union National High School. It was a privilege to honor these unsung heroes on this world holiday. It’s a known fact that anyone who is anyone can attribute some of their success to a great teacher.  A great teacher is one who works hard in developing the joy of learning into every student.  As a salute, the Sadulawit choir rendered songs during the celebratory service.  In this gesture, the teachers are being affirmed, recognized, and honored.

  • God-given Purpose: Win Souls and Make Disciples

    San Fernando Christian Community believes that every believer is a leader. ‘The Great Commission’ stated in Matthew 28:17-20 says to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”  This is supported in the Amplified version of Isaiah 54:13: “And all your [spiritual] children shall be disciples [ taught by the Lord and obedient to His will ], and great shall be the peace and undisturbed composure of your children.  
    In the G12 vision, we are called to win souls and lead them into the knowledge of Christ.  It is the will  of God that none shall perish (2 Peter 3:9) and would come to the knowledge of Christ.  But it does not end there. Like babies, these new believers are consolidated. It requires a great amount of care and investment as they are fed with the Word and made strong.  As the new believer grows and develops a solid foundation of faith, they eventually get trained to be harvesters of souls themselves. 
    This is the new direction being followed and the results are overwhelming. More and more people are being reached as everyone continues to run with the vision given by God. 


  • We Are The Light of the World

    “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works AND GIVE GLORY TO YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN.” (Matthew 5:16) 


    Typhoons have ravaged our country in ways that has put our country on the map. Not a great way to gain recognition but yes, we have had our taste of nature’s so-called ‘wrath’. But in the midst of it all, God has blessed the Filipinos with the gift of resilience. To quote an online newsclip, “When the world looks at the Philippines, they won’t just remember the worst typhoon to hit the earth—they will recall how strong Filipinos are, too.”  This strength, I believe, lies on our being an essentially a God-fearing nation. 
    We all need a glimpse, a taste, an encounter with God especially during times like these where all we see is hopelessness and despair. That is why Jesus commanded us to be salt and light. “You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world…be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God.” (Matthew 5:13-16, MSG) 
    With this embedded in the hearts of volunteers, the San Fernando Christian Community  rescue team organized an outreach to visit families who have been ravaged by the storm.  Through networking, the Primary leaders contacted their downline who contacted their own downline and pretty soon, a list of people who needed help was formed. 
    The message of God’s love made its way through strong winds and knee-deep murky waters. One mother exclaimed that it was more than enough to know that they were remembered. She did not even care about the food that was brought for them. What mattered was that she knew that God had not forgotten them. 
    As a witness to how powerful God’s love can permeate through the hearts of men, I feel privileged and inspired. It’s true what Jesus said. REAL FOOD is in doing the Father’s will. (John 4:34) Seeing these people overwhelmed and in tears because they realize that there is a God will continue to be a driving force to keep overflowing the benefits of having a relationship with Him. 

    To the ends of the earth

    “Kayo po ang unang-unang dumalaw sa amin. Natutuwa po ako na hindi niyo kami nalilimutan.” (“You are the first people to come and check our situation. I’m so overwhelmed that you have not forgotten us.” )
    Sometimes, all they need is a comforting touch.
    Let the people know that Jesus loves them. 
    “By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” (Mt. 5:13-16, MSG)

  • Be Like Children

    But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”  (Matthew 19:14)

    The qualities of a child—pure, simple, obedient.  This childlike faith that God requires of us does not demand an age bracket, but an attitude.  The reason why He He says “of such” and not “of these” is that He is referring to  the disposition and character, and not the age.  

    Like children we ought to be—harmless, free from malice and delusions, free from pride and self-conceit.  With pure, trusting hearts, let us rest in His love just like these children. They know their place in God’s heart. 

    San Fernando Christian Community is a safe, positive, and encouraging environment.  These little children just lying down on the Worship Hall tile floors while worship is going on is a testament to that.
