  • Just Another Day in the Life of a Servant

    28 August 2013 (Wednesday)

It was a jam-packed Wednesday.  No amount of rain could stop God’s divine appointment with souls.  At 8 in the morning, the Moral Recovery Program Team (MRP) hied off to the PNP 1 station to hold yet another seminar, this time on financial management.  The title is “How to Be Rich with What You Already Have”.

There are so many lectures, teachings, and best-selling self-help books regarding the topic.  A lot of methods have been tried and tested.  But it all boils down to the Matthew 6:33 principle of putting God first in every area of your life.  Give to God the first and the best and He will make sure the rest will be blessed.
Wealth is relative.  You could be making a lot of money and yet still feel discontent. You could be earning a minimal amount and yet feel that all your needs are being met.  Make the decision to involve God in your finances and recognize that He is the provider of everything you need.  He is on your side.  He does not desire anyone to experience lack.  He loves you too much.

  • At the PNP—A Whole Day Affair

    Wednesday, 21 August 2013

San Fernando Christian Community storms the Philippine National Police Regional Office 1, the relentless rain and flood notwithstanding.  In the morning, a marriage-enrichment seminar was held.  There was a film-viewing of the movie, “Fireproof”.  This movie is about a marriage falling apart and how it was saved by adding the most important element in it—God.  The crowd, comprising mostly of married people, were moved to tears.  More importantly, they realized that God should be at the center of their marriage. Tim Warden gave a short  wrap-up afterwards.

In the afternoon, another seminar, ‘Soul Spa: : Interpersonal Communication Skills’, was held. The participants were asked to answer the People Puzzle survey-a personal assessment tool used to improve work productivity, teamwork, and communication.  This survey helped each one discover their behavioral differences and how they can adjust to each unique personality. They also discovered that strengths should be maximized, and weaknesses should be minimized.  This also removed the focus to self and instead, it moved each one to be more concerned about the needs and interests of others.  Philippians 2:3-4 instructs us to “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit”.  It goes on to say to “consider others better than yourselves.” In the group discussion that followed, it was clear that everyone was enlightened by this activity.  Their responses held great promise and resolve to treat others better, considering each other’s personality quirks.  In the end, it was established that only by surrendering our weakness to God can change be achieved.  So many lives were changed during the course of that one afternoon.  It would not have happened without God’s amazing grace.

    Sunday, August 18, 2013

San Fernando Christian Community loves guests.  They are given the ‘royal treatment’ and are served both physically and spiritually.  The 2013 theme, “Save Souls & Make Disciples” is being implemented to its maximum level.   Every soul counts.  Mark 16:15 says , ” preach the gospel to all creation.”  Therefore, no soul leaves without being touched by the Word of God.

  • Make the Most of Every Opportunity

    August 14 2013. Wednesday
The Suji San Sung Church of South Korea headed by Senior Pastor Kyu Sik Hwang visited San Fernando City.  More than 60 delegates comprised the cast and crew members of their mission trip.  People trooped to the Pacoy Ortega Auditorium to witness various Korean cultural dances. Korean martial arts demonstration, and Korean pop dances.  The highlight of the program was the praise and worship.  To the delight of many, the Koreans sang popular Filipino worship songs.  There was a short word from the senior pastor and an altar call ensued. A lot of people came forward to ask for prayers.  Indeed, the need for for the Lord is so great. We have to seize every opportunity to let the people know that there IS hope.
San Fernando Christian Community seized that opportunity.  The tickets available were put to good use by means of inviting those who have yet to hear the Good News of salvation.  Families from the mission areas were invited and brought to the event. They thoroughly enjoyed the show and more than that, they came to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.  The Bible tells us to “make the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” (Eph. 5:16) There is still a lot to be done and the workers are few. Let every move we make be purpose-driven.  Make every step be towards winning souls.

  • San Fernando Christian Community—A Safe Haven

San Fernando Christian Community is a safe, positive, and encouraging environment.  So many people are drawn to this place and most of the time, they could not explain exactly why.  Some say it’s because of the warm reception of the people.  Everyone is genuinely welcoming, friendly, and always ready with a smile.  Some say it’s the never-ending surprises and activities with each service. It’s true that SFCC is laden with so much activities and ministries within and outside the center.  But the priority will always be ‘souls’.  Each one counts.  The Bible says that “there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10).     Every moment is an opportunity to minister to someone.  As  Christians, we should reflect the love of God—love that has the power to heal, to feed, and to save.  Jesus said,“He  has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,”
We are blessed with the knowledge that Christ died for our sins. This is the ultimate expression of His everlasting love for us.   In the same way we should also bless others. You can’t proclaim effectively about the love of God without reflecting that love.  And that is why people see the church as a safe haven.  Like the moon, we simply reflect the radiance and warmth of our Savior who is the ultimate source of everything that is good.

  • Moral Recovery Programs at the Philippine National Police Region 1

The Philippine National Police Regional Office 1 has invited San Fernando Christian Community to facilitate seminars on different topics which  cater to different needs or problem areas. The first seminar conducted last July 26 focused on single parenthood. Vikki Cayago opened the seminar with her personal testimony about battling with the stigma of being a single mom and how she raised  her child with God as her partner.  Pastor Tim shared about dependence not on man but solely on God.  Our validation should only come from God and no one else.  He also shared that God’s relationship with us is personal and customized.  One single mom with a 5-month old baby was brought to tears.  She laments the dreariness of her situation but with the message brought by the SFCC team, she has new hope that God will turn it around.

Many were moved to tears as they listen to the sharing.

Pastor Tim presents a new hope for the single parents who feel desperate about their situation.

    Comforting the broken-hearted

Another seminar conducted was about “Finding the Right Partner”. Rhudalyn Bumachi emphasized that it’s better to be single than to be married to the wrong person..  Roseann Gallardo shared her testimony about remaining single by choice until God gives her the go signal.  Indeed, there are so many misconceptions about love, sex, and marriage.  This has been brought about by different ideas and beliefs disseminated by various forms of media.  But the Truth lies in what the Bible says about these things.  And in the end,  this Truth is what everyone should adhere to.

Pastor Tim shares his personal testimony about listening to God’s leading in finding the right partner.

  • Pre-encounter Part 1

    July 27-28, 2013
    (Sat. & Sun.)

The pre-encounter kicked off to a good start.  Those who attended learned about ‘Four Wonderful Opportunities’ which no one should ever pass by. Other topics were about ‘The Benefits of the Cross’, ‘The New Birth’ and its benefits.  Meldan Palabay, a high school student, could not contain herself.  She said she learned a lot from the sessions and could not wait for part 2.  This is just the beginning and already, many are experiencing a personal  encounter with Jesus.  It is without question that an encounter with Jesus is  life-changing—sadness disappears, pain dissolves, and depression is broken.  Let us continue to pray for more transformed lives, more renewed hearts, and more uplifted spirits.

  • McDonald’s Playground

Help us build the McDonald’s playground for the children

San Fernando Christian Community is building a McDonald’s playground for the kids.  We want to create a safe, fun, and kid-friendly haven for the children.  However, assembly is taking its toll because of the lack of a manual.  If you think you can contribute in helping us piece the playground together, please contact us at info@christian.com.ph.  Your help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Water Baptism

Water baptism is a celebration of your decision to follow Jesus. It is a public declaration of the covenant you have made with God.   This is your  response to God—to show to the world what He has done for you.  Water baptism symbolizes the believer’s total trust in, and total reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as a commitment to live obediently to Him.
During baptism, we let ourselves be completely immersed in the water. This symbolizes burial with our Lord. We are baptized into His death on the cross and are no longer slaves to self or sin (Romans 6:3-7) . When we are raised out of the water, we are symbolically resurrected—raised to our new life in Christ and to be with Him forever, born into the family of our loving God (Romans 8:16).

Water Baptism is every last Sunday of the month.  Register at the Information Table and attend the short orientation. Bring extra clothes, a towel, toiletries for rinsing off, and your readiness to publicly declare to the world that you have made a decision to follow Jesus.
