Reaping the Benefits: A Testimony

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6). Christopher received Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior at the tender age of 14. Immediately, his life soared to new heights— being appointed as one of the church’s Primary Leaders at 15 and heading the SFCC Multimedia Team at 17. It was his simple faith and sincere obedience to Jesus that brought him success. Notwithstanding his lack of resources, Christopher would often walk to and from...

SOAKING: Not Just a Concert

Posted by on 6:27 am in Blog, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Every 1st Saturday of the month, the community becomes abuzz with excitement. Years ago, it was just an event with only a few people in attendance—mostly leaders & workers of the church. But because God is the main attraction of the said event, each Soaking now fills the SFCC Worship Hall from wall to wall. Add to that, families who have migrated to faraway places still come over to San Fernando once a month to experience this intimate one-on-one communing with God as worship & exultation erupts and fills the whole room. The...

Purpose-driven Lives

Posted by on 1:26 am in Blog, Discipleship, Family | 0 comments

Real meaning and significance comes from understanding and fulfilling God’s purposes for putting us on earth. It makes life easier and more satisfying, and yes, more fun! At SFCC, every move and every step is geared towards glorifying Jesus. Even simple baby dedications and birthday celebrations are opportunities to minister to the lost. One such event was the baby dedication of baby Dhaniel. Jennifer, Dhaniel’s mom, saw this not just a special day to dedicate her offspring to the Lord, but also as an opportunity to share the Good...

Posted by on 6:16 am in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Jesus is the author & finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is guiding us, leading us, shepherding us from our initial faith to a bigger faith. He empowers us not just to survive this life, but to thrive.  He leads us from merely living to winning. Such is the goal of the PEPSOL (SOL stands for School of Leaders) training at SFCC.  Every believer is a leader.  To be so moved by the awesome blessings & radical changes that Jesus has done in our lives that we would also want others to have the same experience. Claire Padua, this...

This week, SFCC is blessed to have yet another dear friend, David Beebout, to share God’s Word at Praise & Prayer.  Praise & Prayer is where we gather to pray about special concerns & to just magnify God’s goodness & faithfulness. It is held every Tuesday at 7:15 pm. Beebout spoke about “Thriving in Life” which is God’s original design for the people He created and loved.  It...

(Jan. 17, 2017, Tue. Praise & Prayer) This year 2017 has not even fully started yet but the blessings are coming in at full blast.  SFCC had the privilege to have dear friend, Wayne Wasem as guest speaker at Tuesday’s Praise & Prayer.  He shared about turning fear into faith. Yes, fear can be a normal response, but if we know Jesus, the duration of fear dwelling in our hearts & minds will become temporary.  In His presence, there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). So constantly place yourself in an atmosphere of His presence....

Water baptism is an act of obedience & faith.  Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  It is also a public declaration that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. This weekend, SFCC celebrated another milestone in the lives of the PEPSOL trainees—people who are willing to be trained, shaped, and molded according to Jesus’ plan. Race, gender, social status, and age are irrelevant. What is important is the heart—the willingness to upgrade one’s quality of life. In fact, the youngest School of Leaders 1 graduate in the history of SFCC graduated salutatorian. Van Isaac Allam is only 11 years old and yet he already understands that every believer is a catalyst for change. Like all...

Celebrate Recovery Graduation

11 November 2016 (Friday) “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” (Luke 15:7) At Celebrate Recovery, we celebrate the new life that these young people have chosen to embrace. Every decision, especially wrong ones, have consequences. In the road to recovery, a single step towards the right direction is needed. Then as one keeps taking basic steps, it will become a rhythm, a walk. Each step requires a wise...
